SES and the Internet - what is this? Universities Beware!

Came across this, as you do. It looks like someone in the SES is creating sites linked to the educational sector. To keep an eye on for now maybe. http://www.schoolofeconomicscience.org/

As far as I can tell, the website is just a parking page and seems to contain no original material relating to some underlying organisation. The website is registered by someone in Australia. A lookup of how the domain is registered reveals the following:

Domain ID:D158431456-LROR
Domain Name:SCHOOLOFECONOMICSCIENCE.ORG

I'm not sure if this is necessarily anything to do with the School of Economic Science in London and is certainly not part of its official website.

Hi Bonsai

So shall we ignore it? And anything similar?

Bonsai - the SES and other Cults are known to recruit through universities. Inform send people round to warn students. That is why I am a bit hawkish on the net. I have had family members at universities and after my experiences with the SES I would not have any of the SES near my family. End of.

Nothing to do with the SES, just another way spammers use to get hits on their sites.

Woodgreen, I'm certainly not saying ignore it. I agree with you that cults behave like you say and that we must always have our guards up with regards to them. This site you've found however seems to have no content on it, is not registered by anyone or any organisation that seems to relate to the SES and that is all I am saying.

The other feature about cults is that they tend to use different names for different parts of the same organisation to make out that they are unconnected and lure people in unsuspectingly. In this regard it is unlikely also that this site has anything to do with the SES as we know it.

As to my family, of course I don't want them in it but unfortunately they are independently minded people who make their own choices.

Lastly, please don't post short series of posts like this. It looks like you're trying to flame people.

woodgreen, I echo what Bonsai says about the etiquette. You may be unaware that you can edit your own posts (use the 'Edit' button, of course! :) )
