ST.JAMES SCHOOL USED BY NEW "CULT?" FOR RETREATS

St. James Senior Boys School in Ashford is being used by the Headmaster of the school, David Boddy, to host "Retreats" for his new group which some people consider may be a "Cult?" which is known as "Silence on Sundays".

Are the parents of pupils at St. James Independent Schools aware of David Boddy's activities, and do they understand exactly what is involved?

Are pupils from the school also being recruited into this new group?

Thanks for posting this.

Please be careful about using the C-word. The problem with it is that every time members hear it, it triggers a bruised-ego response, which causes them to discount your evidence and to dig deeper into the group, and into their own self-deception. Remember that for a lot of members the group is the mother or father - or both - that they never had - so if we're trying to encourage them to become autonomous, we can't use the C-word about the thing that is so close to their hearts (/egos). The last time someone insulted our mothers, we wanted to run to them and give them a hug. Let's not help the SES ego-trippers like David Boddy exploit that process any more than they already do.

For what its worth, I base this view on the observations of a veteran NRM exit-counsellor, by the way.

Thanks again.

I see that St. James Senior Boys School in Ashford is not currently being used by the Headmaster of the school, David Boddy, to host "Retreats" for his new group which some people consider may be a "Cult?" which is known as "Silence on Sundays".

There is no mention of the school in the current Calendar of Events for Boddy's "group" on the "Silence on Sundays" website.

Is there any news as to why the school is no longer being used by them?
