MM - if you're not prepared to listen to your children then why seek advice? Stanton, I just want to know the truth, if it wasn't for this BB I wouldn't have a clue. I find your post a little disconcerting. Are you suggesting that I leave my children at St James because they seem to be happy? who i...

.posted before I read your post above, mm. do you mind me asking if your contact with education authority and NSPCC was before or after the inquiry report?) I contacted the education authority and NSPCC the week after the TeS story was published. You say your children are happy at St James, mm, and...

Justice, The reality of the situation is that removing a child from St James is not as easy as it sounds. There are many reasons for this. One is that children are very immersed within the school and have formed very close bonds with other children within the school, removing a child suddenly and un...

Justice, I'm not being funny but I can't see any parents at the schools today coming forward from the schools with allegations of physical or mental mistreatment....especially while their children are still in the school. With respect to the mental mistreatment I could quote many instances. Do I fee...

Re: getting things wrong

. For me, the most shocking thing I have read in this forum was the account of the boy who was caned for not going to his philosophy group (youth group?) the previous evening. Without wanting to sound insensitive to those people that have suffered at the hands of the teachers at St Vedast and St Ja...

I cannot find the Evening Standard article anywhere. I would be grateful if someone could either post a full copy or let me know where I can get my hands on the article.

Thanks :B-fly:

NSPCC

I am a little confused. A friend of mine has approached the NSPCC regarding St James. They have been told by the NSPCC that they have no information regarding St James and neither have they received any complaints of abuse in the past. Also the local authority have no complaints regarding the school...

Teachers and anyone helping with the children (e.g parents helping with reading) are all police checked.

Stanton, a question for you: If it provides such clarity of mind and at least the NY tutors are explaining that it peels the layers away and the true self shines; why is it then that most all of the tutors and most of those people that having been attending the adult school for quite some time have...

Dear TS, I feel compelled to answer your post. To be honest I had decided not to add any more to this forum as I felt that the few answers that I had received coupled with what I know and had read were enough. However, I wanted to thank you and the others that have been honest and brave enough to ta...

Hi Sugarloaf, What you say makes a lot of sense. However, in reality parents are reluctant to talk about the SES. Also I have found that parents are fearful of bad mouthing the SES. Many deny it's existence. On the odd occassion when I have challenged other parents about the SES, I always meet with ...

Hello STV survivor I would definately have to agree with you, although corporal punishment does not exist today, emotional and psychological abuse does. It is very cleverly done and one is unaware of it unless you spend time at the school. Simply dropping children off in the mornings does not allow ...

Hi, I have only found out about the SES recently and whilst I have already begun looking at other schools, it is very difficult to find an independent school with two vacancies at this point in the school year. Most independent schools in London have waiting lists as long as your arm. The biggest hu...

St James School

I have two children who have been attending the St James school in London for a number of years. I am one of those parents (who believe it or not) have not known about the SES until this September. I have read and re-read your forum on many occasions and obviously am rather disturbed by some of the ...
