Re: Response to xstJ

...On the second point, I believe a number of people are asking for this through the BB - certainly ET and Alban's names spring to mind. I include myself in the group. Others who are supportive please chip in.... Yes, I certainly think it would be a good idea for some of the current governors to co...

Actually, I think it is a pretty irresponsible action to report this letter in the way that you did Stanton. I say this because you are either: 1) Jeopardising any enquiries the police may have by revealing it's contents, or 2) Reporting hearsay (you have no evidence) from a source closer to the gov...

Stanton, I have not seen this letter, and by the sounds of it, nor have you. However, I have to say that the quote that you have reported: '...otherwise the children will be harmed' ...can be taken in at least two ways. Yes, you could understand it to mean that someone intends to harm the children o...

...But any page on this board will glean remarks from the other side that are FAR more abusive. You cannot possibly compare the "iirep" site and say there is any equivalence there to the torrent of abuse that is on this one. Or can you?... No, you cannot compare the two. The former is an open forum...

Is it really too much to ask?

I personally don't see why I should take up the governors invitation when they haven't taken up ours. Come to this site and talk - you will be heard, you will get the chance to talk to us directly, you will have a chance to appologise, and if you conduct yourselves well, you may even win some admira...

Hi Daska, Actually, I fail to see what this has to do with your father, or the SES to be honest. Yes the former sent you to the school and the latter represents the body that ran the school, but the letter was signed by you and was sent to the current governors of the school. Is this an admission th...

I suggest that you make the poll clear Sam:

Choice 1 - reconcilliation
Choice 2 - blood.

Apart from that, it is a pretty meaningless poll isn't it.

I agree that the ideal would be for all teachers to have the respect of and control over the children meaning that shouting was not necessary. In fact one of my son's teachers was exactly like that, but in my experience, this is the exception rather than the rule. It must vary from place to place, b...

I think this is another of those situations in which you have to be there. On the face of it, a teacher shouting at pupils is not out of the ordinary - I love my kids dearly, but I shout at them regularly. Imagine having to teach 30 kids without shouting - there may be a few who can do it, but what ...

- Do not accept the constraints that science attempts to place on us. Science in it's purest form seeks to explain not to constrain. I don't think we should turn away from something just because science cannot explain it - let's face it, we know so little, there is plenty to be discovered and then ...

Alban, if your questions were directed to me and not just general questions to be considered, I suppose I find them a bit patronising. Yes, I've thought about it, and yes, I've questioned my own belief in it. They were neither directed at you, nor patronising, as has been demonstrated by the very k...

self realisation - modern day alchemy

Have you ever stopped to think what exactly self-realisation is? Have you ever questioned your own belief in it? ...is it not just another foundation that the SES has adopted from other organisations / religions and then bent to it's own specifications? We've been fed this rubbish for so long, that ...

There was an interesting story on the beeb website today: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/4879160.stm Basically, it is saying that the internet has come of age in that it now has the power to challenge big businesses that have traditionally hid behind a blanket of PR. This is exactly the predica...

I agree - who is the Third Gov and why isn't his / her name mentioned. How do they expect us to write to them if we don't know who we're writting to. Anyway, I'm glad that they have posted the appology for two reasons. Firstly because it is the right thing to do and an admission that they screwed up...
