Re: Hotmail / Yahoo / Excite no longer suffice for new login
Mike, in the current circumstances I think this is completely reasonable. Also, perhaps I have missed something but is it not possible to simply remove all of Matt Stollar's threads now that they are all on a single one i.e. "Revelations" (keeping this one obviously) ? From what I gather, Stollar hi...

C. Betts in her latest post states yet again that this is a St James Governors' inquiry and that it is internal. Every inquiry requires factual testimony and this can only be given in a forum that the witnesses have agreed in advance to be just, fair, and equitable. This stage has still not yet been...

You're right, it may well indirectly affect the current pupils, but not necessarily in a negative way. If the parent wishes to withdraw their child then that is their decision. Presumably they will do so because they believe it will be in the child's best long-term interests. The most important thin...

Rachel, thank you for your honest and I think quite accurate appraisal of where the SES went horribly wrong with tragic consequences. I remember once Donald Lambie saying that wives should go down on their knees begging their husbands' forgiveness for something or other. And this is supposed to be t...

no need to feel guilty or responsible
There's no need for you to feel guilty or responsible Sandra. The parent's decision to remove his/her child from St James was based on having read all the posts on this forum, and not just your own.

Re: Questions from a prospective St James parent
My second point is a question, and I would really welcome some input from SES members about this, particularly perhaps those who are parents or teachers. Why are schoolchildren being indoctrinated into the SES at all? I do not ask about whether an emphasis on outer behaviour has any relevance to in...

Re: Remaining Teachers - Girls school
janine wrote:Are there still teachers in the Girls school from the 70/80's. What happened to Mrs Debenham?
Hi Janine, Mr Southwell is now being employed at the Girls school. I don't know whether Mrs Debenham is still there, perhaps someone else does?

Let's not forget Christopher Southwell
Don't forget, its not just Mr Lacey that is still working there, but Mr Southwell as well. He too is a former child-abuser, as many of the testimonies bear out. If Lacey is to be suspended, then so too must Southwell.

I might note that I obviously got up your nose with my post, yet I tried to make as few moral judgements as possible and stick to what I have observed and experienced, and make logical deductions thereof. I thought it was moral judgements that upset people, not discussing arguable and measurable fa...

Re: meeting between B Barber, PF & M Woolf
Thanks Matthew for your moving account of this meeting. I think I must have read it more than a dozen times. Each time I do so, it allows me to share in your catharsis, your sense of release from childhood demons. There is a long way to go, of course. I hope that other teachers, including some you ...

meeting between B Barber, PF & M Woolf - 29/10/0
PF and I had a very positive and useful face to face meeting with Barrington Barber last Friday night. PF may also like to share with everyone his account of the meeting. I looked Mr Barber straight in the eye as he apologised unreservedly to me and asked me to please forgive him. This profound demo...
