Re: What qualifications does a SES tutor need?

Does God only exist in the human mind? And what difference would it make to the world if he was dead. After all the only thing people really know is that one day we are all going to die. So lets invent an afterlife where we can all live happily ever after. Hopefully there will be no SES tutors aroun...

What qualifications does a SES tutor need?

Leon MacLaren was once asked what qualifications he had to be a tutor. His reply was that he breathed. Some might think this was a rather arrogant answer to a reasonable question, but if one considers what actually is being taught in the SES no qualifications are necessary apart from following the p...

Re: A recent student

It is interesting that on the cover of the book Secret Cult it says. A full expose of a strange and destructive organization that is penetrating the corridors of power. This book was published in 1984, the same time an assassination attempt was made on Margaret Thatcher and David Boddy was the Iron ...

Re: A recent student

Hi Lession Learnt, Yes the first year in School is really nice. Just turn up once a week with other interested people and discuss topics like:- What is Wisdom? What is the power of ideas? Who am I? What are we looking for? We are given the exercise to quieten the mind and it works. People serve us c...

Re: A recent student

Hi Lesson Learnt, In the true Hindu tradition you are not allowed to charge money to teach meditation. Even in the Western tradition this also applies. The narrative of Jesus cleaning the temple of money changers also refers to this. There are always people out to make a fast buck and spirituality i...

Re: Michael Mavro Sydney SOP

Its 20 years since I left the Sydney School of Philosophy so I really can not say what the organisation is like today. The funny thing was that when I was in School you were always kept busy and you had a lot of friends. Sure there were bad times but also a lot of good times. However in that time I ...

Re: Michael Mavro Sydney SOP

Thats interesting! Was in the Sydney School for 14 years and did not know Mr M's real name! Although since then have found out that it is not unusual for the leaders of spiritual organisations to take nom de plumes. Fred Smith does not sound spiritual.

Re: Michael Mavro Sydney SOP

I also heard that Michael Mavro recently passed away. But when I did an obituary search on The Ryerson Index which covers all the Australian newspaper obituary notices nothing showed up. You would think if it was true there would be something there. Maybe Mark Twain's quote says it all 'The report o...

Leon Maclaren said " To speak as though we know something we do not know is to lie." I'll be interested to read the book.

Re: Kind of general ramble - you'll see.

Interesting post by Just Someone. He says 'What could be done about the SES? Who knows?' I think he is talking from his heart, we cannot change the past so it is better to move on and not seek revenge. I think the SES will change itself and move to Dr Roles idea of Brotherhood. Discipline has had it...

Re: Thank you for warning me...

If you asked any of the leaders in the SES what was the purpose of the school? Their answer would be to raise the level of consciousness in society. Most people are interested in bread and circuses, just have a look at The Sun newspaper to see where all their attention is focussed. So instead of fol...

Nothing to do with the SES, just another way spammers use to get hits on their sites.

Read Dorine Tolley's book The Power Within. Its quite funny what she says about flying with Leon first class. Old dude young chick, you can imagine what the flight crew thought! Anyway flying first class is only one of the perks of office being GOD.

Re: Coming to terms with stupidity

Recently saw the movie Up in the Air with George Clooney. He was addicted to frequent flyer miles. Wonder who got MacLaren's frequent flyer points or maybe he was just addicted to the cheese they serve in first class.
