Really? Why not? I've emailed her the same questions in case she is no longer reading posts on this forum. She knows the identity of this man. Unless she wants to prove the accusation I made to her that the SES is still harbouring known child abusers, what's to stop her replying? Tom If she wanted ...

Re: Should I send my daughter to this school?
I'm not sure quite how 'up to date' these last two posts are: I certainly have never seen the seating system 'at work', unless it is by the pupils choice (sitting on the back row with friends in order to muck around with greater ease for example!) I'm not sure that the foundation girls are instructe...

The SES relies on St James to provide a steady stream of new recruits and every year (in my day) the head of the SES visits the 6th form specifically to recruit new members. Does this still happen? Yes it does, I wrote (several?!) posts on that somewhere in the 'Experiences at St. James/St. Vedast'...

Re: Die SES, die!!!!!!!!!!1
I do not think that the present day schools are as closely involved with the SES as they were in the beginning, due to the fact that their sheer size has meant that they have had to parallel "normal" schools and it is no longer feasible or practical to run them according to a philosophy. They ain't...

I am not supporting what Katherine has written, but would suggest that as the editor - I think she's still the editor anyway- of 'The Spectrum' she has to be seen to tow the party line and may have been asked to write this article in praise of 'the great man', she may have enthused without meaning a...

For example I did find that not touching a computer untill I was 18 was a disadvantage!!! - but I think this has changed at the school now. There are still no computers in the junior school, this is the school's policy, but there are now IT lessons for senior students. I think the career advice we ...

Re: what do you hope to achieve?
As harsh as this may sound all of that is history. Not sure that this entirely deems it irrelivant to the present however. It is the history of the school -or that which is remembered- has created the current reputation of the schools. As said above some teacher involved in past still teach in the ...
