Re: Just for fun...really?

Dear iwonder, My personal opinion, for what its worth, is that you should firstly avoid using the c-word, because it will stimulate defensiveness and outright rejection of the genuine concerns you have for your loved one. Ban the word from your own lips. Try not to use any defining term, but if you ...

Re: Where I'm at

Dear Chittani,

Rest assured, I didn't quote you. The words on the username were taken from a line of random text.

All the best,

Re: Where I'm at

Nothing to excuse! I've a hunch that if the tutor was the kind of person who could have replied to you "Why do you think?", and encourage you to hone your independent observational faculties - instead of claiming he was going bestow knowledge onto you - he might not have later had an emoti...

Re: Where I'm at

We're in agreement here. I'm referring to a mental prison, and your parent/child analogy is the perfect illustration. I seriously doubt that tutor knew more about you than you knew about the tutor. What an egotistical remark the tutor made. It is extraordinary that this organization creates dependen...

Re: Where I'm at

Dear Chittani, Absolutely agree with you that a school without graduation is not a school. Personally I get the impression a school without graduation is a prison. You've very eloquently highlighted one of the central contradictions that SES creates for people. Another big one is its teaching that e...

Re: Can the SES claim Gift Aid?

There's so much lying at SES (from the Tube posters to the Inquiry) that I cannot give them the benefit of doubt that their charitable status isn't exploited by Sinclair, Boddy etc in an underhand manner. I would not be surprised to learn they are involved in one of those elaborate tax schemes where...

Re: The SES and Regional Schools in England

Thanks Woodgreen. Ideally we would benefit from a full account of the relationship between the Thatcher government and Boddy/ Sinclair, and whether the goods or services they provided were in any way linked to their roles in SES. But I assume that would be too abstract for an FOI request. Perhaps we...

Re: The SES and Regional Schools in England

Thanks Tom, yes I am almost certain now that I was thinking of Price rather than Townend. I must have read that SES were quite unethically trying to place their own partisan chairman. I'd still be more comfortable if I could work out how and why Townend was chosen. Indeed the irony about Boddy's app...

How was Townend selected after they tried to insert Price?

Re: The SES and Regional Schools in England

Hello Tom, As I say its just something I recall, so I might well be wrong. But I did read something (I think on this forum) that indicated Townend had a massive conflict of interest. Either he was an SES member or had a previous professional or organizational relationship with one or more of the tru...

Re: The SES and Regional Schools in England

This is going slightly off tangent but your mention of Boddy reminded me I recently re-watched that Channel 4 News investigation http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cnv1tTcm6t4 and it is entirely accurate to conclude from it that Boddy was lying to the public. He said he hadn't heard of the abuse, and th...

Re: Where I'm at

Thanks for writing back soon. Am glad I wrote something that might have made sense. I can't reply again in full right now, but just noticed that you said: Only philosophers would read a book with no conflict in it! I just wanted to point out that SES stole the word "philosopher" from the w...
