Pincham stated in his reply After a period of years which has seen much evolutionary change and improvement, it is accepted that a fundamental review of the governors of St. James schools would be timely and in order. The expectation is that this will be completed by the end of the Summer Term and i...

I find it deeply disturbing to hear that adults are treating very young children like that. Its reminiscent of the phsychological games they used to play when I was at st james - which had an incredibly negative effect. sadly - it really seems nothing has changed.

As far as I know:

SESSA is a group of ex pupils who communicated with the schools and pushed for an acceptable inquiry.

PPIAG's stance and objectives seem to be pretty clear from their website: http://www.stjamesinquiry.org/ and http://www.stjamesinquiry.org/ABOUTUS-page/aboutus.html

I think your father should tell Lambie to piss off to tell him to instruct the governors that if they have anything to say, they should say it to the group of people that signed the letter. Where better to do that than here. i agree. The open letter was addressed to Roger Pincham, chair or the boar...

Personally I think if anyone is going to raise ?20K - suing them for damages would be a better, and perhaps more effective option. Any no win no fee lawyers out there? doesnt matter how much commission they charge - for me it would be the SES parting with money which would make the whole excercise w...

PS There is much on the web about state school Governance and best practice - certainly worth posting some key points - as Private school regulation is so clearly lacking. Composition of Governing boards is an interesting one. Might be good for the new Governors to be aware of it before they take ov...

Hi Ben, I believe the law/guidelines/rules for governing independent schools are different from state schools ? ie notably less regulation, and they are freer to manage themselves as they see fit. Suffice it to say that the negligence that allowed mistreatment at st james may well have been curtaile...

I can see why its dificult for them - Ultimately it means facing up to the realisation that Leon Maclarens beliefs, teachings and actions were the root cause of the systematic mistreatment of children - and adults - and destroyed scores if not hundreds of families and relationships. They really have...

Can anyone shed any more light on this?

Did anyone attend? Were any questions asked? were any answers given?..

From my - admittedly rather limited - knowledge.. There are some time limitations to civil actions - ie suing for damages. There are however absolutely no time limitations for a criminal prosecution - whatever the alleged crime. It does not matter when the alleged crime took place (perhaps that is w...

Oh and the alcuin school also happens to be run by the brother of one of the current St james teachers imlicated in mistreating children. Not saying that in anyway reflects on his own competence, but just another example of what a small incestuous world the SES inhabit. In my view part of the inward...
