Re: TB

I am personally against an inquiry that includes the SES for two reasons. The first is the thought that it might blunt the progress toward dealing with St James/Vedast. Secondly despite their philosophical links they cannot be lumped together and dealt with in the same way. What happens in an adult...

Abel, I can see why you regard Matt as a kindred spirit and why you want him around here, but he's gone, hopefully for good. Now get over it.

Re: demystification

I was sent to a very bizarre SES meditation initiation ceremony at the age of 8. I had to bring an offering of a white handkerchief and a piece of fruit and was sent into a incense filled house where this 'holy' word was revealed to me. I had to promise never to repeat it to anybody. It was never c...

It can't be an objective moderator's job to block certain contributions on grounds that they might undermine the credibility of others. Abel, once again you completely miss the point. Where exactly did Mike say this? Go back and read carefully exactly what Mike has said in this thread and you will ...

Abel, You really are totally off the mark in everything you say. You don't have to look very far to see that Mike Gormez does not censor views just because they are pro-SES or pro-St James. The board is full of views that disprove this half-cocked theory. Matt Stollar has been banned because he litt...

Re: THANKS

The person is blocked on IP level and only using a different IP will it be able to wreak more havoc. As you will know, most ISPs allocate a different IP address each time you log on, so the only way of barring a particular user is to bar the entire range of IPs allocated to his ISP. That could bar ...

How do we participate in the inquiry?

As soon as practical arrangements for the Inquiry have been established I will post on the message board details of an address to which complaints and written evidence can be sent for onward transmission to the Independent Chairman. ... I shall keep the message board up to date with material develo...

Thanks for the info, currentparent. If it's not too much trouble, would it be possible to copy the text of the letter and post it here?

Mrs Watson, has laid out her opinions and her views on the great side of Mr Debenham, which many people share with her. Yet it doesn't mean she doesnt care about the abuse that many of you had to endure. What kind of moral gymnastics is this? This is like saying you think Adolf Hitler was a great m...

FORGIVE ME MY SLIGHTLY UNUSUAL VIEW OF REALITY. 'Sandra', I've had to do university dissertations that were shorter than your post, and I'm not sure everyone is going to take the trouble to read everything you said. As a proponent of meditation, which supposedly promotes clear thinking, your post i...

Re: eulogy

Re my reference to eulogy: Perhaps for the sake of accuracy I should point out that Katharine's piece was'nt a eulogy - as far as I know the great man is still alive and kicking! Re my own reference to 'eulogy', it was deliberate - you don't have to be dead to be eulogised! (see definition at http:...

Considering the position Katharine Watson has taken on this board with regard to the abuses of the past, I was somewhat surprised to read her article in praise of Mr Debenham in the latest edition of Spectrum, the St James magazine. This is the final paragraph: "But all of us over this past few day...

The intention is to have a neutral group where all former pupils are welcome, regardless of views etc. Mike, can you please let us know a little more about what your new discussion group is intended to achieve - your 'mission statement' as it were? At this stage I think to have ANY creedibility the school should be placing the 3 teachers on paid leave while the matter is being investigated. Although that is what would happen in a state school or well-funded private school in similar circumstances, I think this is unrealistic at a relatively s...
