Re: The old 'whyaretheydead.net' site

If a link on this site or anywhere else points to a post on the old http://www.whyaretheydead.net, you can find the relocated post as follows by replacing "www.whyaretheydead.net/phpBB2" with "www.ses-forums.org". For example: Replace: http://www.whyaretheydead.net/phpBB2/viewtop...

The old 'whyaretheydead.net' site

You may have noticed that the old 'whyaretheydead.net' site where this board was located until October 2008 has now closed completely and its domain name taken over by a domain name reseller. This means that all links to the old site from this board or anywhere else on the Web will not work. It also...

Re: Parents against decision to merge St Davids with St James.

This appears to be related to the announcement below on the St James website (http://www.stjamesschools.co.uk/seniorgirls/news.php?news_id=57). I understand that the 'merger' will end up being just a takeover of the old St David's premises - all the students of St David's are moving to other schools...

Board outage

Some of you may have noticed an error message when trying to access the board today. I have no idea why this happened, but I have now restored it using a database backup less than 24 hours old. I believe no posts were made during that time so the site should be the same as before the outage. If you ...

Re: How many people still read this Forum?

The stats I receive as site administrator show that there are approximately 250-300 unique users accessing the site each month, growing by about 10% per month. (The true number will probably be a little less, because one person may access the site from different computers, e.g. home and work.) So I ...

Re: SES RECONCILIATION: is there a list of your requirements?

This has come up in several threads, e.g: http://www.ses-forums.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=536 http://www.ses-forums.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=578 http://www.ses-forums.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=595 http://www.ses-forums.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=635 I think everyone agrees that the first ste...

Re: GOOGLE RANKING FOR WEBSITES CONCERNED WITH SES / ST. JAMES

In a similar vein, if you control any site that links to the old WATD forums, could you please update the link(s) to point to this site instead. Several anti-SES sites still link only to WATD, which doesn't help the Google ranking of this board and makes it less likely that those with an interest in...

Welcome. No obligation whatsoever to do so, but would you like to tell us about any interest in and connection with the SES you may have? Feel free to start a new thread or add to an existing one.

Re: Index

OK, further to my last post I've set up a demo reference site at http://reference.ses-forums.org. At the moment I've added only two articles, both of which I've borrowed from the excellent existing reference site on the SES and its schools, http://www.stjamesinquiry.org. Any registered user would be...

Re: Index

In my first message after transferring the board (http://www.ses-forums.org/viewtopic.php?p=9103#p9103) I mentioned I was going to set up a separate section on this website where users will be able to place reference material. I didn't get round to finishing it but there's obviously a demand for it ...

Re: Index

I'm open to these suggestions - please keep them coming. The only structure I used was to copy over the single SES-related forum from the old WATD site. In choosing the domain name 'ses-forum s .org' (rather than the singular 'ses-forum.org') I thought there might be more than one forum in the futur...

Re: Closure

Pablo, as far as I can recall your diary is the first instance of what courts would call a 'contemporaneous account' of what went on at St James. I am looking forward to reading more extracts - please keep them coming. It helps disprove the lie that our memories are somehow warped by the passage of ...

Is your email address up to date?

Could everyone please check that the email address in your profile is up to date. When I sent out the bulk email announcing the relocation of these forums, around 10% of the messages bounced. Although I expect such emails will only be sent in exceptional circumstances, it would be good to know they ...
