So last May the governors announced that they would be carrying out a major review, implying changes would be made and Roger Pincham would no longer be chair. As far as I'm aware nothing's changed. Fresh year, fresh Governors, hopefully less criticism. It doesnt seem to make sense to annouce a major...

School's FAQ booklet for parents
I've heard that the schools have sent out a booklet to all parents to explain the SES involvement in St James entitled 'Answers to Frequently Asked Questions'.
Does anyone else know about this or has anyone seen a copy of it?

Re: Lambie first steps
"First and foremost, I am extremely sorry that there was any mistreatment of children in the early years at St James and St Vedast and that this caused unhappiness and distress to a number of former pupils. I apologise for any part played by the School of Economic Science in that. I'm just not feel...

Does anyone remember the meditation 'checks' we used to have in our homes (I'm presuming it wasn't only me)? I can't remember the man's name now but he used to come over in the evening about once or twice a year to perform this 'check'. How on earth do you check meditation? What was he checking for?...

This same person has also been accused of smacking a child with a ruler across the hand and worryingly I am told that there have been other incidents. Rumour is, that her husband sits on the board of governors. This is really serious, if it's true the teacher in question should at the very least be...

I personally would be upset if Stanton were to be driven away from the site. I see her as a valuable contributor, and someone who is capable of helping us forward. Can you point me in the direction of her valuable contributions? I must have missed them. We are enouraging Mary Pickering to come here...

Oh Stanton you really do enjoy a bit of stirring don't you? Is your life really so empty? It seems fairly obvious, as others have said, that the letter writer meant that children would be harmed by St James if they don't change. If the writer was informing the school that they were planning to physi...

I recently saw an article on the front page of the Independent that said 1 in 15 children now self-harm and 1 in 5 people in the population are expected to suffer from Mental Health problems. (nothing to do with meditation). This is increasing all the time, but noone seems to ask why. If such a lar...

As for burkas ... in some cultures they believe that the sight of any part of a woman incites male lust ... that's not my view and i presume it's not yours. Actually it is my view, of course of course men and women feel lust when they see someone they're attracted to and it's not limited to certain...

Re: the joy of service
The right response, we were told, when a Gentleman asked a Lady to do a task far beyond her capability, was for her to cheerfully attempt to do it, no matter if she strained her back or otherwise injured herself. My mother was forced to dig a trench in the grounds at Waterperry when pregnant which ...

Sorry to be stuffy, but if a thigh or cleavage tends to attract men's eyes (don't pretend it doesn't) then it is only sensible to advocate modesty, at least where a philosophical atmosphere is what is desired. Faces tend to attract men's eyes as well, I suppose it would be a good idea for women to ...

A DIRECT CHALLENGE TO DONALD LAMBIE there will be a genuine meeting Instead of just meeting a few current non-ses parents who will no doubt find themselves outnumbered, CALL AN OPEN MEETING - invite all current parents and pupils, former parents and pupils, governors and all other "members of the s...

Anyway, I still think this has degenerated into a witch-hunt after David Lacey ... when it gets as personal as this, how can it not? So far as I can see the objectives are to get him to apologise, and to press for his sacking or resignation. Without debating the value of these aims, I would suggest...
