On a law of averages I think that puts it in perspective. Say an average class was 20-25 pupils. You can work it out for yourself. Sorry, it's a calculus I'm unfamiliar with. Can you indicate the conclusions you draw Quite frankly anyone who was actually there doesn't need to draw a conclusion or u...

Hundreds of beatings of 7 year olds? Making a statement like that is a bit sensationalist and misleading. There were in my recollection a minority who appeared to be singled out time and time again rather than a mass majority. These few in some cases appeared either to have the sort of parents that...

I'm inclined to agree with Matthew that there were certain instances as he describes. About five or six names spring to mind in St James and St Vedast. In 1975 the average age of pupils was 6 1/2 -7 years and the oldest about 8. As to the alleged book there definitely was one but it got lost in the ...

Talking about this diet melarky I do remember getting hold of a toaster a Stanhill court and the smell of lovely toast permeating down the corridor in Stanhill court while the adults were on what the SES called 'Measure' which involved no breakfast. As young kids we were allowed breakfast. This was ...

Please don't think I am in any way making light of the incident if I say that the more openness there is -the better. Theres being open and honest which is one thing. Also theres also being open, honest and causing hurt to those you love and also those you don't. But it is in a way living a lie. I ...

We have now had it confirmed that it was our private letters that were discussed and shown to members of our family at Waterperry. We know this to be true as we have had a personal message of apology from Mary Pickering. JC This sounds quite terrible. These things can cause family splits. I thought...

Well you just link the URL between [!img]http://image_url/xxx.jpg [!/img] Remove the ! You have an IMG* button in the edit box. Technically if you don't own the original pictures web site you shouldn't really link it in otherwise the owning website gets lots of hits everytime someone views the messa...

What a strange question to ask. There was a Dr Ratsy who had kids at the school and also a Dr Wilson (a young lady) I think prior to Dr Ratsy.
Also there was a herbalist long ago named ( I think called Dr Lato ) but he wasn't a school doctor but was someone used by lots of SES persons.

Yes Mike - The idea of 'hopping about on one's arse' sounds most intriguing - have you been going to some dodgy nightclubs? http://www.alltm.org/images/yogicflying.jpg We don't: - bounce around trying to fly Looks like fun to me. Why are people so convinced that something must be wrong, when so muc...

...in a potential peer pressure situation... Sorry to sound like I'm nitpicking and perhaps taking a word slightly out of context, but you are describing potential peer pressure. Unless you personally know current St James girls who believe this to be the case, I would suggest teacher100's analysis...

Fact: no-one is forced to join the SES. There are girls younger than 16 who attend SES groups within St James, and they have only been asked via their parents who are also in SES. This is not to be exclusive, one of the accusations levelled at the SES, but specifically not to recruit St James pupil...

Joseph, your story is tough and terrible for anyone to read and its good to hear you are becoming a psychologist. I seem to remember your grandfather Jeff Lewis as being in the upholstery business and having a number of Rolls Royces over the years. If this is the same man I remember him being very k...

Re: David Lacey

What do we all think will happen to him? What do we all think should happen to him? I think he needs to meet face to face with those that have cause for complaint. From my recollection when he lost his temper he became unpredictable in his actions and certain very minor things seemed to cause his l...
