Re: How many people still read this Forum?

I attend a school in Australia, and still check back here reasonably often to see what's up. When I started posting here, my urge was to reply to descriptions of stupid and awful occurrences with "wow, that's not my experience at all - I don't think it's dogma", but I soon realised many pe...

Re: Hugh Jackman is a member

I guess he's used to referring to the NY school now? Dunno, really.

Re: Hugh Jackman is a member

Howdy ADG - just a note FYI, the schools in Adelaide and Canberra go by that name, though it's my understanding Hugh Jackman started in Melbourne.

Sprouting Shakespeare would probably look more revolting than impressive, especially if it was an "Alien"-type scenario.

*cough*
Sorry, carry on.

How would a genuine schism between hardline traditionalists and progressive rebels be healed by Debenham apologising for negligence at the London Boys' School? Why would Lambie think it would? I dunno - pacifying people who sympathise with the St James/Vedast boys without any thought to the value of...

FT, the latter emails seem to have ended up in my spam bin, maybe that happened to you too. I dunno why some were deemed spam and some not, but eh.

I can't remember if we had a sticky-outy-tongue smiley, but we definitely need one, if only for all those "tongue in cheek" moments.

Oooh, FT - New Wave, Gothic & Industrial eh? Unfortunately the club situation here is similar in that regard. There was a bit of a goth resurgence a few years back, but it fizzled and died again, of course. I only know of one club that operates with any regularity, but it's full of 18 year olds ...

ADG is right. As I said to someone when they queried my last post by PM - I'm just bowing out of this thread. There's no point pitting experience against experience and trying to find an overarching truth. Yours was true for you, mine was true for me. People screwed up at your childrens' schools, an...

Leon, I think it'd be bad form to include talk of past lives in any disciplinary measures with children. It's irrelevant to the issue at hand, as far as I can see.

This is why this BB is sometimes a bit of a merry-go-round. A conversation starts, questions are asked, an answer is given...then the response is "that may be well and good, but what about THIS (basically unrelated) issue?" When I said the principle "love and play" was not manufactured to lure peopl...
